About Me

I am a mother a children's drama teacher and a former preschool teacher. I have always loved children's literature. With my own children, Laptime stories were a special time of bonding and discovery. While in the classroom, Story Circle was a priority teaching time. It has been my experience and my firm belief that when children are read to they grow into good readers and writers who have an expanded world view.

Are you looking for a favorite book from your childhood or perhaps one that was special to your parents? Check out my Wondersome Storytime Vintage Books shop on etsy.com

My other StoryTime blog is The Most Wondersome StoryTime, creative ways to teach God's most wondersome stories.

My family and I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest on 5 acres that we call Woodsedge. Joining us at Woodsedge are 2 dogs - Carin and Bailey, 2 cats - Oreo and O'malley, 2 goats - Sven and Ole, and 5 chickens that we refer to as "the girls". Here at Woodsedge we live simply but always in style. I believe that an economically sound lifestyle can still be rich and full. In my blog, Shoestrings End, I write about new ways that I've discovered to live on the plastic thingy at the end of the shoestring.

My husband, Greg, is a graphic designer. His company, Yellow Dog Graphix, designs logos, brochures, advertisements and websites. So if you are in need of really creative graphic design visit his site and send him an email.  Greg also has a discount printing service, Cheap Dog Printing. Check out Cheap Dog for all of your printing needs. And if you are looking for a truly unique card or gift click through to Horace Glump's Zazzle shop. Greg and our friend and Seattle based photographer, Stuart Grinnel, have a line of funny and thought provoking cards, buttons, magnets, mugs, mousepads and T shirts.  Click through the ad in the sidebar to enter the world of Glump.

When Greg and I first got married we discovered that we had a real love for anything with an interesting story behind it.  We especially had a passion for old advertising art (our first vintage purchase was a metal 7 UP sign from the side of a bus). Our other passion through the years has been for coffee memorabilia, or coffeeabelia. Our home is full of vintage memories. I love it when someone comes to visit and recognizes something that their parents or grandparents had in their home. Then we can sit over a cup of coffee and share memories. Each visitor's story adds to the stories that are represented by each unique piece on our shelves or walls. To share this passion with others we opened three online shops, Leaping Lemming Vintage Eclectic, Coffeetropolis and Horace Glump's RetroShop. I hope that you'll come and visit us there. Who knows, you may discover a piece of your own story.
